“Cortili Aperti” is an event which was sought after and is organized by the ‘Italian Historic Residences Association’, as part of the national ‘Giornate Nazionale ADSI’ events which bring private artistic and cultural heritage to the public’s attention and valorize the owners’ efforts to protect it- an act which is not always appreciated or given sufficient recognition.
On the wave of its success of previous years’, this year, Bitonto is hosting its seventh edition of ‘Bitonto Cortili
Aperti - Private Heritage Day’. In conjunction with and the financial backing of the local council, it is expanding its offer to include the additional opening of churches and public buildings to that of the opening of private buildings. The sole aim of this is to put into evidence how much the latter enrich our national heritage and how important their owners’ contribution is to saving its identity.
Over fifty places to discover, rediscover and visit so that we can learn and deepen our knowledge about what great treasures Bitonto holds, starting from an appreciation of the noble master craftsmen who have handed us such precious heritage.
‘Bitonto Cortili Aperti - Private Heritage Day’ is precisely this: a path by which to explore historical buildings, courtyards, gardens and museums in a rewarding journey which presents you with what is pleasing, true and right.
Over eight hundred students, who have studied the history of the town and its buildings, will accompany whoever may wish to visit and be fascinated by its wealth of heritage. Bitonto- a town of art which is ready to host and welcome visitors, in the same way as its courtyards and numerous buildings are!
