Alberto Spadolini (1907 – 1972), Josephine Baker’s partner, was Premieur Danseur de l’Opéra de Monte Carlo, a choreographer appreciated by Maurice Ravel, a painter admired by Jean Cocteau; he acted in films with Jean Marais, directed a documentary with music by Django Reinhardt, adapted the scripts of films by Sir Alexander Korda (for London Films), sang with Mistinguett, was a journalist for a review entitled Le Sourire, modelled for photographer Dora Maar, and was a secret agent in the anti-Nazi Resistance.
